About Flair Studios.

Let's make something exceptional.

At Flair Studios, we're all about capturing real people with creativity, style, and heart.

Meet Peter.

Peter’s journey with photography began in the Army in 1995. As a young conscript with time between duties, he started taking candid photos of his fellow soldiers. His passion quickly grew, encouraged by a neighbour who was a professional photographer and introduced him to darkroom
techniques.

Even after becoming a full-time professional in the Army, Peter continued photographing wherever he was stationed, including during a six-month mission in the former Yugoslavia.

In 2000, he officially launched his professional photography career with the Ministry of Defence in the Netherlands. Over five years, he travelled extensively, capturing action shots, portraits, and landscapes across Europe, Canada, the United States, the Middle East, and Afghanistan. What stood out then, and still drives his work today, is the connection with people and the transformation of an idea into a compelling image.

After leaving the Ministry, Peter worked independently, photographing everything from weddings to florals and portraits of all kinds.

In 2012, Peter moved to New Zealand and quickly felt at home in Wellington. After gaining experience at a local studio, he joined Project Bloom, where he refined his portrait and fashion photography skills. Over the following years, he worked with hundreds of clients, helping them feel confident in front of the camera while delivering a fun, professional experience.

In August 2017, Peter took over ownership of Project Bloom, breathing new life into the brand.

Then, in early 2019, he launched Flair Studios, a sister company focused on creativity, people, and exceptional photography.
